Happy Earth Day to our awesome global community! 😉
Our Mini BREAKS family tries to work on the little things to contribute to caring for our planet and its inhabitants. Whether it’s buying local and/or organic when we can, composting/recycling, reducing water usage by only taking showers once a week (Just kidding! Although we did used to do that when we were young, didn’t we?) or showing our little ones how to express themselves and encouraging them to take a step towards fulfilling a dream – we think it’s those little things in our lives that add up to make a BIG difference when help is due.
In the past few months since starting our Mini BREAKS program, we have been so blessed with the wonderful families that take part in our classes! Â We’ve gotten to witness children coming out of their shells and courageously finding their voice through dance, we’ve been able to share our love for hip-hop along with its music/message/culture to our young students, and we’ve seen families and friends come together to experience and celebrate the joy of their children learning and exploring. It has been a short but amazing journey so far and we really want to continue our with adventures! But we need your help…
Some of you might be aware that the Massive Monkees family has started an online fundraising campaign in order to make improvements to and KEEP our  Seattle studio, The Beacon. One major problem with our current studio (that might force us to leave) is the huge amount of sound that goes through its ceiling to the residents above. A majority of the money we are trying to raise will go towards sound proofing so that we may reside peacefully with our neighbors and stay in the building! You can learn more details about our fundraising efforts HERE, at The Beacon’s Kickstarter page.
So far we have raised a little over $6,000.00 of $30,000.00 in less than 3 days! We are so humbled at this initial show of support from our beautiful community! Please spread the word about this project, and if you are able – donate a little bit to the cause. Because truly at the end of the day – it will be the little contributions that will add up to “Keep The Beacon Lit.”
