When your child has a wide range of diverse interest, all of a sudden you find yourself doing guesswork. So I encouraged her to communicate what she’d like to try most. Ballet was her answer. But those “twirls” were usually followed by energetic moves, that only left her right back on the floor. I said, “You’re always sliding and spinning on the floor. Do you want to breakdance??” She was quick to say YES! This led me to find @minibreaksdance taught by world renown Massive Monkees b-girl, Anna Banana Freeze!
The plan is to take her to as many test runs that her young heart is desiring to understand, and then have her decide. As parents, we all want to nurture the heck out of our kids passions, but often times we trap them into doing things that only we’re interested in. We forget that kids can make their own path—so we just need to detect it and provide them access to further explore it.
So here’s my girl, b-girling before class! Thank you again, Anna It was nothing short of fun, engaging, and welcoming of creative self expression!!
